Gradual Brake Motors

Gradual Brake Motors

Description:

This electromagnetic spring brake offers gradual, quiet stopping and compact dimensions. Ideal for decelerating heavy inertia loads and ensuring safety during power loss, it features a DC-fed rectifier within the motor terminal board cover. When energized, the electromagnet attracts the brake anchor, releasing the cast iron fan attached to the drive shaft. Without power, the spring-loaded anchor presses against the fan, gradually halting the shaft. Mounted at the motor’s rear, it aligns with standard IEC motor dimensions. Its robust design and cast iron fan enhance heat dissipation.

Available for various motor ranges, including UL and CSA-compliant versions upon request.

Field of use:

Cutting, Drilling, Milling, Sanding

Custom-made option:

We have the expertise and the availability to study, design, and implement any project that includes this type of brake, starting from the specifications/drawings provided by the customer. Shafts and/or flanges to design and mechanical suitability to particular radial and/or axial loads and electrical sizing for extra European voltages/frequencies protection and isolation from external agents and pre-arrangement for inverter drive use of special rectifiers to manage the release and/or braking times.
